About Cooking Academy 3: Recipe For Success
During this game, you will be searching for recipes to use when writing your very own cookbook. You will receive the help of your friends at Cooking Academy and as a result, your book is bound to be a best seller and the reputation of Cooking Academy will spread far and wide as both you and Cooking Academy will become an international success.
You will need to travel around Cooking Academy to the 8 different houses, where you will meet each instructor and be required to complete recipes and pass exams. You will begin at the sugar house and the make your way around to the other houses after completing each category with both the recipes and the exams. Once you have completed the sugar house, you will then be allowed to move on to the produce category, then the eggs and seafood, before arriving at the Diary house where we are currently.
The Dairy house instructor will be Henri Fromage, who you may remember from Cooking Academy 1 and 2. He is most well-known at the Cooking Academy and will push you to your limits. In this section, you will primarily focus on the fine dishes cooked with the aid of fresh, nutritious milk. He will expect nothing but the best from you, so ensure that you give this section everything you have and prove that you have learnt from the best. The dairy recipes will include the following:
- Dulce de Leche Crepe
- Cream of Mushroom Soup
- Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
- Deep-Fried Mac and Cheese
Once you have successfully completed the above recipes, you will receive an award for your hard work and dedication. Your award will be presented in bronze, silver, gold or crystal depending on the overall average that you received for the entire category. Crystal is your highest achievement and therefore you are expected to aim for nothing less. Once you have completed the dairy recipes, you will then need to pass the four dairy exams. These exams will test the skills that you have learnt in the recipe section and ensure that you are able to complete these tasks under pressure. The dairy exams will include the following challenges:
- Deep Fried Macaroni
- Fold Crepes
- Find Bay Leaves
- Mash Graham Crackers
Although these exams do not sound challenging, you will be surprised at their difficulty as you race to beat the clock and produce or complete as many as you can. You will receive a star rating depending on how many you were able to produce or complete, therefore the only thing holding you back is the clock. Once you have passed all the dairy exams, you will then be able to proceed and move on to the chicken category of the Cooking Academy houses.
Lamona Pullet will be your instructor in the chicken house. By this stage, you would have already met her daughter, in the eggs category. Lamona is sure to teach you everything you need to know about how to handle the chickens after they hatch. The chicken recipes that you will be required to complete, include the following:
- Barbecue Chicken
- Chicken Soup
- Curry Chicken
- Chicken and Waffles
- Chicken Pot Pie
- Buffalo Wings
- Jerk Chicken
Again you will receive an award for your accomplishments on the chicken recipes. This award will be displayed in bronze, silver, gold, or crystal depending on the overall average rating that you received for each individual recipe. Your star rating for each individual recipe will be determined by the points of which you scored during each step of the recipe process. Once you have completed the recipes in the chicken section, you will then need to pass all of the exams to complete this section. The chicken exams consist of the following:
- Make Waffles
- Make Pot Pies
- Marinate Chicken
- Season Jerk Chicken
Once completing all of the exams and recipes in the chicken section, you will be able to move on to the beef section of the cookbook categories.
Your beef instructor will be Ruben Sachs. He is eager to help you with your cookbook and believes that fine dining can be had with a prime cut of steak. Here you will learn to slice, dice, chop and mix, amongst other skills. These skills are required in order to be able to put together some of the finest beef recipes around. The beef recipes in this section will include the following:
- Corned Beef
- Barbecue Beef Ribs
- Doughnut Burger
- Steak au Poivre
- Beef Wellington
Once these 7 recipes have been completed and you are satisfied with your scores on each recipe, you will receive an award for your accomplishment. These recipes will have taught you many valuable skills and tricks that involve cooking with beef. It is important that you remember these skills for tasks in the future, and that you are able to master them to the best of your ability. In order to ensure that you are able to use such skills in the future, you will need to pass four exams that will put you to the ultimate test and confirm that you have learnt and accomplished such skills through hard work and dedication. The beef exams of which you will be required to pass include the following:
- Chop Garlic
- Grill Barbecue Beef Ribs
- Fold Beef Wellington
- Slice Steak
After you have completed and passed the above four beef recipes, you will move to the eighth and final house of Cooking Academy, where you will be put to the test, but also be able to have fun. This is the last place where you are able to show your talent, while collecting recipes that are of the best quality to ensure that your cookbook is a number one seller.
Your instructor for the baked goods category will be Anita Betterpot, who is back to turn up the heat and teach you all there is to know about baked goods. History says that bread was the first thing ever baked, but nowadays the oven can certainly bring forth a whole slew of exciting dishes. This is one section that will get your taste buds watering as you learn the art of baking the most delicious and irresistible goods. Again you will need to complete both the recipes as well as pass the exams. The baked goods recipes include the following:
- Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- Apple Pie
- Raspberry Muffins
- Red Velvet Cake
- Soft Pretzel
These recipes have all been perfected by Anita Betterpot and she is more than willing to share her special talent with you. The baked goods recipes are great for your cookbook and can be used for various occasions such as gifts, birthdays, celebrations and school lunch boxes. There is no way that you could possibly go wrong with baked good gifts and they are bound to be a big hit at many special occasions. Once you have completed all the baked goods recipes and have managed to accomplish a good enough score, to move on to the exam section of this final category. However, before moving on to the exam section, you will receive an award for passing all the baked good recipes. Your award will be displayed in bronze, silver, gold or crystal, depending on the overall averaged that you scored for the baked goods recipes.
You will also receive an award for your overall performance on all the recipes in all of the categories. Therefore this award will represent your overall skills and talent that you possessed in all of the classes on various sections, with various instructors.
- 5 stars on all recipes – Crystal award
- 4 stars on all recipes – Gold award
- 3 stars on all recipes – Silver award
- 2 stars on all recipes – Bronze award
After you have received your awards, you will still need to complete the final four baked goods exams before you are finished and are able to go away and create a marvelous cookbook. The baked goods exams will test the following skills:
- Make Pretzels
- Butter Dough
- Sift Flour
- Make Croissants
Once these exams have been passed you are free to go and use what you have learnt from the talented chefs at Cooking Academy and get to work on your cookbook. We expect that you will receive much recognition and will soon become a celebrity in the cooking world. You will also receive awards throughout the game for accumulating a certain number of points that is required of you.
- For accumulating 10000 recipe points, you will earn a bronze award.
- For accumulating 20000 recipe points, you will earn a silver award.
- For accumulating 35000 recipe points, you will earn a gold award.
You will also have a time restriction for completing each step of the recipe. You will see a clock located in the top right hand corner of the screen. The clock will gradually tick down. The faster you complete each step of the recipe, the more time bonus points you are able to accumulate. As a result of accumulating more time bonus points, it will assist you in achieving a higher score and inevitably a higher star rating.
Fugazo's game may be looked at from the point of view of a learning curve for young people who are eager to learn the art of cooking.
